Seva Stress Release is an acupressure formula developed following the
events of September 11, 2001. It was created by a group of acupressure practitioners as a gift to the world to relieve suffering and was first
taken to NYC and delivered to those who endured tremendous shock and
stress during that time.
2001, the Seva Stress Release has been taught all over the U.S. and
around the world to lay-people and healthcare professionals alike. It
is simple to learn and can be used for self-care or given to another
person. No special equipment is needed. The receiver stays fully clothed and finds a comfortable resting place, either seated or lying down.
are 15 specific points on the body that are accessed in order, with
firm but gentle finger pressure. A full session takes about 15-20 minute to complete.
Seva Stress Release is an extremely useful and accessible tool for
addressing a wide range of needs, including general relaxation, pain
relief, increased energy, stress, and shock/trauma.
Here are a few examples of how Seva acupressure has been given and received:
- Soldiers, veterans, and loved ones
- Home-bound patients and caregivers
- Chemotherapy and radiation patients
- Families and community centers
- Physicians, nurses, and staff
- Business employees
- Children or adults with ADHD
- Daily self-care practice
The Seva Stress Release Workshop is a fun and relaxing experience for people of all ages and backgrounds. The self-care protocol is taught in a single class session; a second class is offered for those who wish to give acupressure to others. CEUs are available for massage therapists, Asian bodyworkers and nurses.
